Global ePoint’s Acquisition Candidate, Tops Digital Security’s Video Surveillance Systems Selected by Leading Regional Homebuilder

CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — April 24, 2006 — Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq: GEPT - News), a leading manufacturer of security technologies for the aviation, law enforcement, government, and commercial / industrial markets, announced today that Tops Digital Security (Tops), a provider of large enterprise video surveillance systems that are designed primarily for high quality video capture and central monitoring security operation, has been selected by a leading regional homebuilder. The California based homebuilder has installed the systems for its corporate offices. Global ePoint recently entered into an agreement to acquire the assets, including intellectual property and customer base, of Tops.

Tops can also provide CCTV digital security systems as part of the security package with all new homes built. The systems are integrated into the homes along with low voltage wiring for burglar, telephone and multimedia into new homes, allowing home owners to monitor homes from anywhere in the world via the internet. In addition, with built-in motion detection features in Tops’ digital video recorders, they also have the ability to receive early notification in the event that someone enters their property. This also provides law enforcement with third party verification further enhancing security.
