CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Dec.17, 2004--Global ePoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:GEPT - News), an innovator in homeland security solutions in aviation, law enforcement and high-volume contract manufacturing, announced today that it has received a $2 million order to provide industrial computers to one of the world’s largest makers of airport X-ray security scanning machines for delivery starting in January 2005. The announcement was made by Toresa Lou, Chief Executive Officer of Global ePoint.
Global ePoint’s Contract Manufacturing Division, a leading producer of industrial computers for homeland security and other applications, will provide the computers for installation into conventional X-ray scanning equipment, used to scan luggage and cargo at airports. These computers are currently at the heart of X-ray security equipment used in airports around the world.
The current contract announcement follows a $4.8 million sale announced in May to provide similar computers for X-ray scanning equipment.
